PC-BSD 1.3 BETA2 (Khan) Released

After much hard work, the PC-BSD team is pleased to announce that version 1.3 BETA2 is now available for download. FreeBSD 6.2-RC1 Released

Ken Smith has announced the release of FreeBSD 6.2-RC1.
We have now reached the Release Candidate stage of the FreeBSD 6.2 release cycle. A few significant problems had been discovered during the initial BETA testing and those issues should now be fixed.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Beta 2 Available

Red Hat has announced the second beta release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5. This is the first Red Hat Enterprise Linux release that includes Xen-based open source virtualization technology. The Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Beta 2 release contains virtualization support on the x86 and x86-64 architectures as well as a technology preview of Xen for Itanium 2. It's official, Sun is open sourcing its Java SE and Java ME Monday under the GPLv2 license
Sun is due to announce Monday the open sourcing of both its Java Platform, Standard Edition (Java SE) and its Java Platform, Micro Edition (Java ME) under the GNU general public license version 2 (GPLv2). [Link]

The SeaMonkey Council is pleased to announce two new releases simultaneously. SeaMonkey 1.0.6 continues the successful 1.0 series of the SeaMonkey all-in-one internet suite, fixing several security vulnerabilities and various stability issues. Read the release notes for more info.

Debian 3.1r4 Released

The Debian project has announce the fourth update of its stable distribution Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 (codename `sarge'). This update mainly adds corrections for security problems to the stable release, along with a few adjustment to serious problems. Those who frequently update from security.debian.org won't have to update many packages and most updates from security.debian.org are included in this update.
